There are two main ways you can get involved with LoveMilton: as a volunteer or a participant and both options are equally as fun!
As a volunteer you will help in the office, providing administrative support, even taking control of some projects! LoveMilton welcome people with all levels of experience and types of expertise as we try to tailor your volunteering according to your skills. This means you will get the best out of the experience and we can get the best out of you!
Whether you're a young architect looking to get involved in sustainable community building, or just looking for office work experience, we would love to have you on board helping us with our different projects.
Participants work on our construction projects because they want to learn new skills and gain more qualifications, make new friends and improve their career prospects, all free of charge. The skills awarded, such as CSCS cards proving you are qualified to work on building sites, can be added to a CV and help participants find paid work or give others the opportunity to re-train in a different job market.
Participants are different to volunteers as the majority of their time is spent doing training and working on site. Alongside manual labour and learning theory behind different build techniques, participants are given the opportunity, every Thursday in a week in which they are working on our projects, to team up with Wild By Nature and do outdoor activities. You will often find yourself doing something like canoeing across Loch Lomond: not something to be missed!
LoveMilton run a wide variety of courses throughout the year and are always happy to have new people take part in our projects.
